3-6-9-12 Quilt
One block made in multiple sizes can easily result in a "one of a kind' quilt with visual interest and variety. Discuss both artistic and technical considerations as you explore how to select the block, plan the sizes, and assemble your quilt. Make a series of blocks of different sizes and have fun arranging them for a finished piece or the start of a larger project.

North to Alaska
Use a quick piecing technique to make the quarter square triangles, and discover the arrangement that yields a spinning star effect. Learn and practice stitching a partial seam block (the star block) to complete the process. This is a workshop full of tips to make your piecing more accurate, allowing you to work with easy precision, whether stitching simple or more complex blocks. We all love it when things fit together as planned!

Fearless Templates

Freeform Quilting
In this 3- or 6-hour workshop, we will cover two important aspects of machine quilting: preparation and stitching. Students will begin class by watching me demonstrate how to sandwich and baste a large quilt on a smaller table and then they will sandwich and baste their own class project. Once the quilts are prepared for stitching, we will discuss how to design the quilting for their project. In this class we will quilt on panels (cheater's cloth). Panels are perfect practice pieces since they are neither expensive nor have they taken time to construct. There are many areas of a panel that lend themselves to intricate planning and that allows the students to learn and execute these quilting patterns.

Machine Appliqué
This 3-hour workshop is designed to make appliqué fun without fusing.  No longer will you call appliqué the "A" word! The preparation is the same for machine and handwork so you can adapt this technique to any project. I will design a special project for each workshop or you can choose from one of my patterns (contact me for choices).
